Da heutzutage keine Datenträger mehr im Lieferumfang eines PCs oder Notebooks enthalten sind, wollte ich mir mit dem Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool (WUDT) einen bootbaren USB-Stick für eine Windows 7 Installation erstellen. Dummerweise stieg WUDT immer mit folgendem Fehler aus:

We were unable to copy your files. Please check your USB device and the selected ISO file and try again.

Nach den folgenden Kommandos in der cmd ließ sich das nette Programm dann doch zum kopieren überreden…

diskpart
list disk
select disk #
clean
create partition primary
select partition 1
active
format quick fs=fat32
assign
exit

Man sollte natürlich drauf achten, dass man bei select disk # die richtige Festplatte angibt 😉
